Parts of Grand Tunis face a 36-hour water cut
Tunisia's national water utility, SONEDE, announced disruptions and cuts to the drinking water supply lasting up to 36 hours from 1 am on Tuesday 6 October, in districts of La Marsa, Le Kram, Carthage, El Khadhra, La Goulette and La Soukra in Grand Tunis. Supply was due to resume gradually from 1 pm on Wednesday 7 October. SONEDE said a 1,000 mm distribution main lay on the route of works for a flood-protection project in La Marsa that covers the Ettabak wadi, and had to be moved and reconnected. Crews were to work day and night, and residents and institutions were asked to store water. The reports found do not say whether service returned on schedule.
