read in a browser on 20 September 2026 because curl meets a human verification wall, still lists Yanbu 2 as a multi-stage flash and multi-effect system dated 1998 at 211,998 m3/day and 82 MW, so that page had not been updated for the asset sale. No formal shutdown date has been published; the stage now rests on the authority offering the plant's assets for scrap and reuse in June 2026. Coordinates added on 20 September 2026, approximate. OpenStreetMap relation 18080143, named محطة ينبع 3 لتوليد الطاقة وتحلية المياه with operator given as the Saline Water Conversion Corporation, is not one train but a site 3.1 km by 3.0 km covering the state desalination complex at Yanbu. Its centre is 23.8614 38.3771 and it lies 0.14 km from the OpenStreetMap coastline, which a seawater intake requires. The Saudi water authority residential compound, OpenStreetMap way 231599964, sits 3 km north-west at 23.8831 38.3583. The features mapped as Yanbu 1 IWPP and Yanbu 2 Power Plant carry the operator Marafiq and belong to the industrial city fleet, not to this plant. Reverse geocoding returns Yanbu governorate in the Madinah region. The individual multi-stage flash phases are not separately mapped, so the pin is given to two decimals and stands for the complex.
