Every field in the record above is taken from the references below. A field that none of them confirms prints as a dash.

  1. Le360, Dessalement: les cinq projets phares qui vont transformer la gestion de l'eau au Maroc, 8 August 2022. fr.le360.ma.
  2. The Oriental project was then at the feasibility and implementation study stage, a contract won by the CID, Agroconcept and Medsurvey consortium after a tender launched on 12 May.
  3. Capacity was given as 100 million cubic metres, able to rise to 200 million, the plant to be built at Nador under a public-private partnership.
  4. The scheme is the subject of a partnership agreement between the Ministry of Equipment and Water and the Oriental Regional Council, with a budget of more than 1.3 billion dirhams allocated to the wider programme rather than to the plant alone.
  5. It will reinforce the resources of the Moulouya basin and secure drinking water for Nador, Oujda, Berkane, Taourirt and Saidia, and may also serve irrigation in the basin.

  7. Moroccan authorities launched construction at Nador of a plant of 250 million cubic metres a year, the second largest in the country, with one part for households and one for irrigation, running on renewable energy.
  8. The announcement was made by the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, at the Orientales de l'investisseur forum in Oujda.

Baraka told Reuters that Morocco would tender a 250 million cubic metre plant at Nador by the end of that year, second only to the 300 million cubic metre plant planned at Casablanca, both to run on renewable energy. Capacity figures conflict between the 2022 study and the 2025 launch announcements and both are recorded. No page opened names a contractor or a plant cost. A separate and much smaller desalination plant for the Nador West Med port is a different scheme and is easily confused with this one.
