The Mayoralty spokesman Oday al-Jundeel said a sewage lifting and treatment station is being built on the Khansaa sewer line on the Rusafa side of Baghdad with a design capacity of 200,000 m3/day. Work is directed by the Mayor of Baghdad, Ammar Mousa Kadhim, and supervised by the director general of the Baghdad Sewerage Directorate, Mahmoud Aziz. A consortium of one local and one Turkish company holds the contract, neither named. Pile casting had begun and progress stood at 10 per cent. The purpose is to take flows off the Al-Rustamiya plant and area. No cost and no completion date were published. This is the only Rusafa-side wastewater scheme under construction that could be documented, and it is a candidate for what the register's unsourced Rusafa row was reaching for.
