The Mitidja Est Hamiz littoral scheme connects the plant to the ONID pumping station at Lac de Reghaia through a 2.2 km pipeline including an oued crossing plus a polishing lagoon, delivering 22,000 m3/day to the irrigation network in summer, about 3.2 million m3, and more than 50,000 m3/day into Lac de Reghaia once the second tranche is in service; in exchange water is transferred from the Hamiz dam to the Keddara dam or the Boudouaou works for drinking supply, so the reuse frees reservoir water for potable use.
